Commitment to Conservation

When touring with Keen Tours you know you are committing to support Nature and Cultural Heritage conservation.

For instance: 2,00€ from each client are gathered in a fund aimed to support projects that can include actions to protect endangered species, to plant trees, and to help preserving the cultural heritage in the Northern Portugal.

Plantations and reforestation initiatives are done in close collaboration with the local Communal Land Management Comities and the Portuguese Parks and Wildlife Services in order to guarantee the quality and health of the trees as well as to decide the best locations to plant them.

Whenever it is possible, the clients will have the opportunity to plant trees or engage in some action alike themselves, directly taking part of the effort that is natural conservation.

In natural environment, Keen Tours assumes as its policy: “take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time”, so we carry our own rubbish with us as well as litter that was left behind by former less conscious visitors. In urban areas, we work together with local associations and NGO.

Keen Tours also engages in initiatives of NGO or public authorities chosen by our administration after consulting with the Portuguese Parks and Wildlife Services and other public entities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
