Santa Isabel do Monte
Santa Isabel do Monte is a previleged area for a bit of time-travelling that takes as far as pre-historic times.
This mountain hides beautiful landscapes and very interesting historic features – from megalithic mounds to modern irrigating systems -, as well as surprising toponymy that offers hints on previous occupation and use.
During a 3h+ easy hike we’ll help you to better understand the landscape that reveals how people have lived in this territory in the last millenia, and how they took advantage of the geology to create a sucessful agropastoral system.
